Your future is as bright as your FAITH!

Wow I feel like this week was so crazy I don't even know how to put it into an email so I'll go day by day....

WEDNESDAY- I went on an exchange to Poway wow it's such a beautiful area and it was super fun I was with sister Short she's from Utah and been in the mission like the same amount as me. We worked a lot on inviting for baptism and were able to get two of her investigators on date to be baptized so it was an awesome exchange....later this weekend her companion got really sick and had to go to the ER so we are going to be going on another exchange with them tomorrow, things seem to be getting a lot better so hopefully all will be well.

THURSDAY - New Year's Eve hahaha me and my comp keep laughing super hard about it because we went to bed and set the alarm for 11:55 so we could be awake to bring in the new year hahaha but when the alarm went off we both sat up and were so confused and tired and so neither of us wanted to wait the five minutes or do anything so we just went back to bed. A New Year's Eve to remember haha

Friday and Saturday were a blur I don't even know what happened haha there are so many people here from Iraq it's so crazy and surprising but anyways they all speak Arabic. We were teaching this family that the wife is from Mexico and speaks Spanish and the husband is from Iraq but he speaks pretty good English anyways we were trying to teach them at the same time and he kept asking the most random questions that didn't have anything to do with the lesson and then we would speak Spanish to her and he wouldn't understand. I've always wondered how families work out when they don't speak the same language but it happens.

Sunday was super sad because there was a tragedy in a neighboring ward and so a lot of people were talking a lot about why bad things happen to good people. So on Sunday I decided to study that a little and found a super awesome talk with some scriptures to go along with it. What I learned though is that God doesn't like to see His children sad, hurt, confused, depressed- He is sorrowful too when He sees bad things happen. But he has promised us our agency it is a gift that He has already given to us.

We don't know the meaning of all things but what we do know is that God loves His children and when we focus on what we do know and trust in Him we will be able to overcome whatever might come our way because we will know that our all loving Heavenly Father has a special plan for each of us. He didn't create us to be said, he wants to rejoice with us and help us experience a fullness of joy. Ultimately God's will will prevail so if we trust in Him then we have no reason to fear!
The atonement of Jesus Christ isn't only for sins but it is for every affliction, sickness, hardship, whatever we might be passing through. We can always turn to our Savior!

I love you all! Keep the faith! Happy 2016 I hope everyone has some awesome resolutions that are going to help them grow closer to God this year!

Love always, Hermana Koelliker
