WOWWWWWWWW I told you that last week was full of miracles but this
week had even more. It is so amazing to see the Lord's hand in the
details of this work! This has been a wonderful week, how grateful I
am to be a missionary!!
Well last Monday I mentioned that we met the Hernandez family, Juan
Hernandez stopped us on Monday morning when we were on our way to
another appointment. When we went back to visit him and his family on
Wednesday we had no idea how strong of a family they are. Juan, his
wife, and oldest daughter were all baptized in Sweet Water about 12
years ago and were sealed in the San Diego Temple soon after. However,
after moving around from city to city they didn't transfer their
membership records and fell away from church. It wasn't that they were
offended or didn't believe but it took 10ish years for them to come in
contact with the church again when they saw us walking by their home
last week. After two lessons with them we were able to set baptismal
dates with their children Iveth (17) and Andres (12) and their whole
family joyfully attended church with us this past Sunday!! They loved
the branch and are excited to continue attending weekly. They have all
begun reading the Book of Mormon and also attended a baptismal service
last night. Following the baptismal service sister Hanson and I look
over to see the Hernandez family in a group hug. They are a miracle!!!
Their family is so full of love and unity and we are so excited for
them to enjoy the blessings of the gospel again.
We have three other large families of investigators that we are
teaching and a couple part member families that we are also working
with. Another miracle with the Hernandez family is that they live on
the same street of our 18 year old member that just moved here from
Mexico. Her mom is an investigator but they don't have a car so now
they have the Hernandez family right down the street that wants to
help them and take them to church and wow it's so so awesome to see
how the Lord works. Miracles miracles miracles!
This week I've been thinking a lot about the gospel of Jesus Christ
and how it changes us. As we have faith in Jesus Christ we gain a
desire to change and become more like Him, to repent. We make
covenants with Him and find strength through obedience and through
following the Holy Ghost. As we continue enduring to the end the Holy
Ghost sanctifies our hearts and souls and we become perfected through
Christ. It's amazing!!!! The gospel is the only way to true and
lasting happiness and how lucky are all of us to know our Savior and
be apart of His church!
I love you all!!!
Keep the faith and keep smiling! Life is great!!!
