SACRIFICE BRINGS FORTH THE BLESSINGS OF HEAVEN
ITS TRUE!!!!!!
This week was one of the most amazing weeks of my mission wow so many
miracles!!! So lately sister Hanson and I have been struggling with
church attendance- having our investigators come to church and so
we've been praying to know what it is that we need to do. Last week
during our weekly planning we decided that we needed to do a fast. Not
a fast of food but we wanted to sacrifice something to show the Lord
that we were truly committed and that we really needed His help. We
came to the conclusion that we would wake up every morning at 6:00am
and read in the Book of Mormon until 6:30 when we normally wake up to
start our exercise. Friday morning the alarms went off at 6:00am and
we popped up begin our scripture study and it was then that the
miracles just started to appear everywhere. As Sister Hanson said all
weekend we've just been "walking into miracles".
I don't even know where to begin....well first we street contacted
Maria who we found out has a son and daughter in law that are both
active members of the church in Mexico- we later met her teenage son
Jesse who testified to us about how he would die defending Jesus
Christ and has now begun reading the Book of Mormon. Next we have
Marleen- a referal that we received from the English elders, we went
to contact her and soon found out that she actively attended a Spanish
branch in City Heights where both her mom and daughter were baptized,
she is not yet a member but is excited to attend church this Sunday.
Glayds is also a street contact that has a sister who is a member and
recently moved to Utah- she is excited to meet with us and wants to
come to church when she can get off work. We have the Rodriguez
family- another street contact of 7 people and it turns out that one
of the daughters is close friends with one of our recent converts-
they are also excited to attend church and want to prepare for
baptism. Yesterday we were walking up a hill to visit a part member
family in a trailer park (we've probably walked it 10 times before and
never met anyone that speaks Spanish) we were stopped by a man named
Juan who went on to tell us in Spanish that him and his wife were
sealed in the temple and haven't attended church since they moved
recently but he wants us to go by tomorrow to teach his three non
member daughters. We street contacted and taught another family of
five and are continually seeing the Lords hand in this work!!! We are
so grateful for the trust that God has placed in us as His
missionaries and are excited to continue working diligently and
obediently!!! There are so many amazing things happening in the Santee
5th branch!!!
I love you all!! Thanks for the letters and prayers!
